Packers-Favre Dilemma Solved!
I’m still perplexed by how the Packers have been handling this whole Brett Favre situation.
I think it’s fairly simple.
Hold a press conference declaring that, of course, Brett Favre will be welcomed back to the Packers. But because so much time has been invested in the offseason to get Aaron Rodgers prepared for the season, there will be an open competition for quarterback — the starter will be determined by who plays better in training camp and the preseason.
If Aaron Rodgers dethrones Brett Favre, good for him. If, as is most likely, he doesn’t, then Brett Favre gets to start and Aaron Rodgers can sit down and shut up. Of course, if Favre throws up a few of those horrible interceptions like he always does, bench him and bring on Aaron Rodgers.
See? Problem solved.
