I know I’m not a football insider. More of a football commentator. I don’t have access to Brett Favre’s family, friends and confidantes. So for me, it’s a little hard to get past Brett’s repeated denials that his pending un-retirement is nothing more than rumor.

That said, I will admit that I’m probably not cynical enough when it comes to pro football. But I really am at a loss to explain the columns and blogs ripping Brett Favre for his return.

Uh, guys? Brett hasn’t returned yet. Call me crazy, but can’t you wait until the guy does come back to rip him? Because if history is any guide, it’s pretty clear no one is going to apologize if they’re wrong. Just ask Andy Reid.
